I've been a fan of award-winning podcaster Woody Overton for a few years now. I've listened to every episode of his podcast Real Life Real Crime. In several episodes, Woody mentions Angola. I tried looking online for anecdotal stories about Angola but couldn't find anything more than institutional facts. This podcast is what I've been waiting for! I love that his producer, Jim Chapman, is a cohost. Jim adds another level of information. Woody brings his law and order background and Jim brings the historical context. I knew I was going to love this podcast, but I had no idea how much!! Being from Louisiana and having visited Angola for the rodeo, I’m excited to hear the stories from behind the walls. What I wasn’t expecting was to learn the history of how it came to be. This was the best thing I’ve heard in a while, and I can’t wait for the next episode! Well done Woody and Jim! I’ve been heavily interested in Angola since a highschool field trip over 25 years ago and have read anything I can get my hands on about this place, now I can hear about it from two of my most favorite people. To say I am excited is an understatement! The first episode had me intrigued and i can’t wait for more. Thank you Woody & Jim!! You just don’t understand the capacity of how excited I am!
